10. GRADUATE RESEARCH ON VIOLENCE PROGRAM ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS – 1st posting
The Center for Peace Studies and Violence Prevention (CPSVP) is accepting applications for the Graduate Research on Violence Program. The aim of this program is to provide graduate students support for conducting thesis or dissertation research pertaining to issues of violence. Proposals are welcome from students in all departments, centers, and programs at Virginia Tech. The funded student is expected to be a full-time, graduate student in good standing, and the research/scholarship is expected to be grounded in the social sciences, humanities, or arts. Applications are due June 15, 2017. The Research on Violence Program anticipates making three awards in the range of $1,000 to $1,500. The research can address any aspect of inter-personal, institutional, group, collective, cultural, or structural violence. The Hume Center for National Security and Technology is accepting applications for its Intelligence Community Scholars Program. The IC Scholars Program is open to both current and admitted graduate and undergraduate students from any major. Recipients of these awards participate in the National Security Education Program (NSEP), giving them access to events and resources exclusively for NSEP members, while they conduct research projects related to the intelligence community or national security.
