3. PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR LIFTING STUDY WITH WEARABLE EXOSKELETONS – 1st posting
Participants are sought for a research study about lifting with and without wearable exoskeletons. Must be 18-35 years old with no recent or prior musculoskeletal disorders or back injuries (at least for 12 months). A height range of 5′ 4″- 6 2′ is preferred. Should be able to comfortably lift a box (~10% of the body weight) from the floor to the waist height. Will be asked to perform a variety of lifting tasks both with and without the exoskeletons. Training session takes about 1 hour and the data collection session takes about 3-4 hours. The compensation rate is $10/hour. Those willing to take part in this study should email Saman Madinei at madinei@vt.edu.

4. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR SUMMER PROGRAM ACADEMIC COACH – 3rd posting
Volunteers needed to act as an academic coach for the STEP summer program. Volunteers will meet with a group of incoming first-year students for 10-30 minutes once a week starting on June 23 and ending July 26. Although there is no compensation, all volunteers will receive a free t-shirt. If interested, please contact Karis Boyd at karisb@vt.edu.

3. PROGRAM LEADER-GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL FOR AGRICULTURE SUMMER PROGRAM – 3rd posting
The Virginia Governor’s School for Agriculture summer program has a position seeking a Program Leader from Jun 19 to Jul 21. Applications are being reviewed until May 31. The GSL is the heart of the Governor’s School for Agriculture (GSA). They interact on a continuing and personal basis with small numbers of GSA students, providing instruction, mentorship, and assistance to the Governor’s School students. The GSL plays a critical role in ensuring the Student Code of Conduct is adhered to at all times, and ensuring the personal safety of all Governor’s School for Agriculture students. Other roles include providing administrative and other support as directed by the Director or On-site Director. GSL’s will be selected for their academic ability, enthusiasm, potential as instructional assistants, and leadership. 6. PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR WORKING MEMORY STUDY – 3rd posting
Participants needed for study investigating the effect of sounds on working memory. The participant will sit at computer listening to different sounds through headphones while completing a working memory task. Task will include identifying colors and EEG will be used to non-invasively record brain activity while taking the test. Session will take approximately 2 hours. Participants must be 18-35 years old, physically and mentally healthy, not color-blind and have close to 20-20 vision (using glasses or contacts), and have no significant hearing loss. Compensation is $25. If interested, contact eeg.testing@vt.edu.
