12. REDUCED COMP FEE OPTION FOR STUDENTS LIVING/STUDYING AWAY FROM BBURG – 2nd posting 

Beginning Fall 2024, the university will greatly decrease the comprehensive fee for students living and studying away from the Blacksburg campus, to reduce student financial burden. For eligible students, the comprehensive fee will be reduced by 50%. For a full-time student (enrollment of 7 credit hours or more), the comprehensive fee will be reduced by $671.00, up from $300.00, and for a part-time student (enrollment between 1-6 credit hours) the fee will be reduced by $ 335.00, up from $150.00. Eligible students can request the reduction by submitting the request form on the Bursar’s office website. Additional information can be found at www.bursar.vt.edu.

Fellowships are open to researchers in all academic disciplines and support research programs in Israel for up to 20 months (two academic years). 20. ADOLESCENT/CAREGIVER DBT GROUPS – 1st posting 
The Psychological Services Center at Virginia Tech is looking for families of adolescents to participate in biweekly DBT groups for the 2024-2025 school year. Families of adolescents that struggle with conflict are encouraged to apply. Cost is $20/week with financial aid available. 21. RESEARCH STUDY ON SUSTAINABLE DIETS – 1st posting 
Two-part, audio recorded focus group interviews at Virginia Tech during Fall 2024. 2 hours maximum for each focus group. Share your views about what motivates your dietary choices, graphic food-based dietary guidelines, and sustainable diets. Lunch or dinner will be provided. 22. MASTERS ENDURANCE AND ULTRA-ENDURANCE ATHLETES NEEDED FOR A RESEARCH STUDY- 1st posting 
We are examining the relationship between physical activity and the total number of calories expended each day (IRB #21-567). This study will require 1 virtual meeting and 2 visits to the Human Integrative Physiology Laboratory at Virginia Tech, which will take approximately 6 hours. Participant qualifications: Highly Active Masters’ Athletes (60 years of age or older), Has an average weekly mileage of 35 miles or more, Stable body weight over the past year (±5 lb.), Free of cardiovascular, lung, metabolic, kidney disease or cancer, Has competed in a marathon or ultramarathon with the past year, Has not had any recent injuries that have affected training volume. 24. PYTHON PROGRAMMERS NEEDED FOR A STUDY – 2nd posting 
The Echolab at Virginia Tech is seeking students with basic Python programming experience for a study. Participants will join an in-person session (60-75 minutes) where they will watch two ~15-minute programming lectures, take notes using a web application, and fill out surveys. An additional survey will be sent out one week after the in-person session. For their time, participants will receive a $30 Amazon gift card. Participants don’t need to be Python experts but should have experience at least equivalent to taking an introductory class like CS 1064, Intro to Python (e.g., comfort using if-then statements, defining functions, etc.). 25. PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR A STUDY INVESTIGATING ESSAY WRITING AND CHATGPT – 3rd posting  
We are looking for participants who will be asked to write a paper with the assistance of ChatGPT. Participants will also answer a pre- and post-study survey. The findings from these surveys will be used to better understand the query process behind using ChatGPT in the context of essay writing. The study was reviewed and accepted by the IRB (# 24-325) and is being conducted under the supervision of Dr. Sang Won Lee (sangwonlee@vt.edu). Participants must be 1) 18 years or older. 26. ADULTS WITH ADHD NEEDED FOR A RESEARCH STUDY ON THE IMPACT OF DANCE AND EXERCISE ON BRAIN AND BEHAVIOR – 3rd posting  
The study (VT IRB 23-811) aims to examine the acute impact dance has on young adults with ADHD assessed through brain activity, psychological tests, heart rate, and motor tasks. Study participation will involve two visits lasting 4 to 4.5 hours total. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of three 30-minute interventions: dance exergaming (e.g., Just Dance on the Nintendo Switch), stationary biking while listening to music, or sedentary music listening. They will be asked to answer a series of questions, complete psychological tests on a computer, complete a series of balance tests while standing, and have their brain activity and heart rate measured. Participant qualifications: Adults ages 18-24 with a formal diagnosis of any presentation of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (Hyperactive-Impulsive, Inattentive, or Combined) and physical activity readiness are eligible.
