3. COVID RESEARCH ACCELERATOR- SPACES STILL AVAILABLE! – 3rd posting
We are still accepting applications for the VT Covid-19 Research Accelerator July 12-16, in Newman Library and on Zoom. This free event will provide dedicated time, space, coffee, snacks, and specialized research support. It’s a great way for grad students, faculty and research teams to network and rapidly move their projects forward on this timely issue. 4. PEACE CORPS CAMPUS RECRUITER GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP – NEW DEADLINE! – 1st posting 
The Center for International Research, Education, and Development (CIRED) at VT is searching for a graduate student who is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer to serve as the part-time Campus Peace Corps Recruiter (20 hours/week). The recruiter will be the main point of contact for people interested in joining the Peace Corps. Subject to the availability of funding, position will begin August 2021 and run through Spring Semester 2022. The successful candidate will receive graduate school tuition remission and a stipend. 5. TRANSFER EXPERIENCE LIVING-LEARNING COMMUNITY SEEKS GRADUATE ASSISTANT – 2nd posting
Housed in the Hokie Transfer Community, the Transfer Experience Living-Learning Community (LLC) is made up of transfer students living on-campus for their first year at Virginia Tech and supports them in finding their place on campus. The GA reports to the LLC Program Director and will be an integral part of establishing and running this inclusive community of transfer students. This 20hrs/wk position is responsible for the supervision, planning, and implementation of events and programs within the LLC and the Hokie Transfer Community; work will include some nights and weekends. A flexible schedule and the ability to work in person, on-campus are essential. 6. PARTICIPANTS SOUGHT FOR AUGMENTED REALITY TECH STUDY – 2nd posting
The Center for Human-Computer Interaction (CHCI) group seeks participants for a research study with augmented reality (AR) technologies, investigating the best ways to interact with AR and comparing various cue configurations and their effect on collaborative brainstorming tasks. Study sessions take place in McBryde Hall and are audio and video recorded. Participants will be asked to complete interaction tasks such as object selection, manipulation in AR and then comment comments about the in-app visual collaborative cues. The entire experimental session will take about 110 minutes. Participants will be compensated with ~$12 per hour ($18 for full session). 7. PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR MIND MUSIC AND MACHINE LAB STUDY – 2nd posting
The Mind Music and Machine Lab at Virginia Tech is seeking individuals to participate in a study (IRB# 21-227) that will explore the way autistic and non-autistic adults collaborate on tasks. You will be screened over the phone by a member of our research team. If you meet our study’s criteria, you will attend an online meeting to complete a measure of your cognitive abilities in order to be eligible for the experimental tasks. You will complete a packet of online questionnaires afterward. The experimental tasks will occur during an in-person visit to the lab to complete a series of tasks in Minecraft Hour of Code Simulator with a virtual partner. In the end, you can receive a summary of your individual cognitive abilities results and $20 for the experimental session.
