The Graduate Honor System relies on trained faculty and graduate students to hear academic integrity violation cases. It takes a one-hour training to become a panelist, after which you can serve on preliminary review and review panels. 4. THE GLOBAL CHANGE CENTER PRESENTS THE 2023 DISTINGUISHED PUBIC LECTURE: FROM THE GROUND UP: A SOIL SCIENTIST GOES TO WASHINGTON, D.C.

The Graduate School invites submissions of art work and photography by graduate students for the beautification of the building during the spring semester and beyond. 17. GRADUATE SCHOOL SEEKING GRADUATE STUDENT TOUR GUIDES –3rd posting
The Graduate School is seeking graduate students to serve as tour guides to prospective graduate students for the 2023-24 academic year. Applicants must have good communication skills, an eagerness to share VT with others, familiarity with campus location, and be willing to conduct 2-5 tours a semester.  Tours are typically 1.5 hours. Applicants must also have a current valid driver’s license, though walking tours will also be offered. Tour guides will be provided with training and will receive a small stipend at the end of the year. The 11-Week Writing & Publishing High Impact Journal Articles training program is targeted to biological or life sciences advanced graduate students, postdocs, and early career researchers passionate about maximizing the likelihood of peer-reviewed publication success for their manuscripts. The Virginia Tech LICENSE: Center for Tech Commercialization will be hosting a workshop series held weekly on Thursdays from 12-1pm, September 21- October 19. These workshops are designed to assist faculty, research staff, and students in understanding the basics of technology transfer. Topics to be covered include the invention disclosure process, inventorship vs. authorship, patenting 101, technology marketing, and licensing. 22. GRA ON NSF GCR PROJECT – 1st posting
Seeking a highly motivated, collaborative graduate student to work on a National Science Foundation Growing Convergence Research (NSF-GCR) project on inland freshwater salinization. With the Occoquan Reservoir in Northern Virginia as its test bed, this NSF GCR project aims to understand the various sources of freshwater salinization and catalyze stakeholder-driven management strategies to address freshwater salinization. 23. TECHNOLOGY COMMERCIALIZATION INTERN WAGE POSTION– 2nd posting

24. DATA AND EVALUATION SUPPORT SPECIALIST GA – 3rd posting
The graduate assistant will join a collaborative team in Undergraduate Education to contribute to data-informed activities that improve equity, success, and the quality of the student experience. We seek someone interested and/or experienced in program analytics, program evaluation, and data management. 32. PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR A STUDY ON CAREGIVER STRESS AND COGNITION – 1st posting
The goal of this study is to investigate the relationship between caregiving and cognitive function in middle-aged and older adult caregivers. You will be asked questions about your caregiving experience and physical health, and you will be asked to participate in a cognitive attention task. During your session, you will be asked to wear a blood pressure monitor, a sensor that measures your pulse, and a device that measures blood oxygenation levels in the frontal lobe of your brain. This device is noninvasive and resembles a headband that rests against your forehead. This session is estimated to take 60-90 minutes and will be conducted at the CAATS lab space located at 1880 Pratt Drive in Blacksburg, Virginia. 37. GRANATA BIOMECHANICS LAB RECRUITING FOR RESEARCH STUDY UNDERSTANDING BIOMECHANICAL PERFORMANCE DURING CHILD CARE RELATED ACTIVITIES –2nd posting
The Kevin P. Granata Biomechanics Lab at Virginia Tech is recruiting women who have given birth in the last 6 – 12 months (postpartum) and women who have never been pregnant, for a biomechanical performance study on effects of lifting and loading a portable car seat in women 6 to 12 months postpartum, compared to women having never been pregnant (protocol number 22-1085). Study involves a single 2 hour visit with questionnaires, six clinical assessments, and lifting and loading conditions, of a 33 lb. portable car seat, as your movements are tracked. Participants must be 18 – 35 years old, not be currently pregnant, not been diagnosed with; a postural stability condition that affects balance, a neurologic disorder, not sustained an injury in the last two months that limited physical activity for more than two days, have not had a serious leg injury/surgery, and can perform tasks of loading and lifting. Eligible participants need to have given birth in the last 6 months to 1 year, had a vaginal delivery, and have not experienced a grade 4 perineal tear.
