6. GRAD 5024 DATA MANAGEMENT SKILLS COURSE OFFERED FOR SPRING 2021 – 3rd posting
Improve your data management skills towards your thesis/dissertation! Learn about the importance and benefits of data management including creating a data management plan. Data organization, policies, documentation, storage, ethics, access, security, analytical tools, grant requirements (proposal and post- award), proper attribution, archiving, other issues and topics related to data in scholarly communication.
8-week course, 1-credit. Pass/ Fail Only. Pre: Graduate Standing. 

7. PARTICIPATION NEEDED FOR VIDEO CONFERENCE STUDY – 1st posting
The echolab is inviting you to participate in this video conference study to help us understand self-monitoring better. The study will take place in the Usability Lab 133 (EFH) (McBryde Hall) and will take approximately 60 minutes. Participants will be provided written or verbal instructions for the experiment and familiarized with the lab and the equipment they will be using. They will to someone over a video call while sitting in the designated setting and will answer a few questions and have a conversation with the other user. After all the tasks are completed, participants will complete a questionnaire form. The entire session will be audio and video recorded. Participants must be 18 years or older and speak English. Participants will receive a $12 electronic gift card at the end of the study. Contact Md Tahsin Tausif at tausiftt52@vt.edu if interested. This experiment has been approved by the Virginia Tech Institutional Review Board, 20-531‌. 

8. HEALTHY DOGS NEEDED FOR HEART STUDY – 2nd posting
The Veterinary Clinical Research Office if seeking healthy dogs to compare to a clinical population of dogs affected by mitral valve disease. To enroll, dogs must be 1-5 years old, weigh 3-25 kg/ 7-55 lbs, be free of systemic disease, such as diabetes, Cushing’s, kidney disease and heart disease. Dogs will undergo a standard cardiac examination, including echocardiography, at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Blacksburg, VA. Then we will obtain some three-dimensional images of the mitral valve of your dog’s heart. These procedures are non-invasive, but may require a small area of fur on your dog’s chest to be shaved. Appointments should take less than an hour. The visit and echocardiographic examination are free of charge. 9. PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR HNFE RESEARCH STUDY – 3rd posting
Volunteers needed (particularly males) for a study looking at the relationship between your attitudes and perceptions about food and your health habits. You may be eligible to participate if you are: age 18 years or older, living in southwestern, VA, able to carry out usual activities of daily living (e.g., household activities), have internet access through a mobile phone, computer or tablet and not living in a dorm. Individuals with in-depth professional training in culinary arts (e.g., Chef) are not eligible for this study. This study will require 4 online sessions, with a total time commitment of ~2-4 hours. One session (using online surveys) will take place at your convenience. Three sessions will be scheduled with the study staff via email and will take place using video conferencing or phone call. You may receive information about your dietary intake, and you will receive a $20 gift card after completion of all study sessions.
