8. PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR AN IN-PERSON USER STUDY IN HUMAN-ROBOT INTERACTION – 1st posting
We are interested in how people respond to robots over long-term interaction. The experiment includes a monitor and a steering wheel. You will use the steering wheel to control your virtual car on the screen. During this experiment you will interact with an autonomous car on various roads. The autonomous car will respond to your driving behavior. We want to see how this interaction affects your responses. Participants will receive a $10 Amazon gift card. More information about this study is available here: https://tinyurl.com/HRI-Collab Please note that if you have participated in the online version of our user study available at this link: https://virginiatech.questionpro.com/t/AUAjtZtIhr , you can NOT participate in the in-person study.

Participants are needed to take part in a perception study on urban thermal model visualization (IRB 22-299). As part of the study, you will have to take part in 6 map reading tasks on a computer screen. The participants will be shown different urban thermal maps with variations in colormaps, dimensions, and resolutions. The study may take around 1 hour. Any adult (18 years of age or older) can take part in this study. The participants are requested to bring a valid ID with them during their participation in the study to confirm their age. 11. PARTICIPANTS NEEDED FOR A HUMAN-ROBOT INTERACTION RESEARCH STUDY – 3rd posting
We are creating interfaces that communicate robot learning to human teachers. During this experiment you will physically interact with a robot arm and teach it to do a task. The robot is unsure about different features of the task. We want to test how a robot can intuitively and seamlessly tell you what feature(s) it knows and what feature(s) it is uncertain about. In the long term, we want to make it easier for everyday users to teach intelligent robots. Participants will receive 15.00.
