This Week’s Events
1. SCIENCE POLICY AND ADVOCACY WITH FASEB
Monday, August 10, 4-5pm, Zoom
The landscape of science policy and advocacy in the United States is shifting rapidly and understanding how to navigate it has never been more important for early-career researchers. This talk offers an overview of the current science policy environment, with a focus on how federal agencies and Congress shape the conditions under which biomedical and biological research is funded and conducted. Drawing on her experience working at the intersection of research and federal policy at FASEB, Dr. Cobb will walk attendees through the key players, processes, and topics that define science policy today. Attendees will leave with a clearer picture of how policy decisions affect their work and a practical sense of the pathways available to scientists who want to engage. https://virginiatech.zoom.us/meeting/register/CYzcDNKcQAm188zEUv0-kg
